Paroa Station is named for the tupuna Paroa, of Ngāti Paroa hapū within Ngāti Pāhauwera. In 1959, 45 landowners consolidated 20 blocks totalling 2,813 acres into a single trust, farmed sustainably for whānau past, present, and future.
